Vicinity presents ‘DEEP’
Saturday April 20, 2013
Starts at 9 pm
Mexicains Sans Frontiers
120 South Division, #226
($5 loft donation at door)

Celebrate 4/20 at the MSF loft space and get blew under by 4/4 beats of heavy bass waves.

Grand Rapids demands to dance and Vicinity is set to deliver DEEP disco, house, and techno.

This night will be a continuous play of dark dance-party music that will induce sublime delirium.

Having heard the gospel of deep house in the dusty void of Burning Man,
DJ Vicinity embarks to bring home The Playa’s message to Grand Rapids.

“Yo Ho Blow The Man Down!”

Federico Ughi & Adam Caine : AKA The Moon @ Mexicains Sans Frontieres

Federico Ughi and Adam Caine AKA The Moon at Mexicains Sans FrontieresBrooklyn Experimental Improvisers THE MOON Release Debut CD, Tour the US/Canada, October 2012

The Moon self-releases a debut CD, “11 01 11,” recorded live in Denver CO and Brooklyn NY on their 2011 tour, in time to hit the road in Oct 2012 on a 15-date tour.

The Moon takes a highly individual approach to experimental music, playing improvised music that is influenced in equal parts by contemporary classical composition, jazz, noise and psych-rock. The results are visceral, unpredictable and virtuosic.

The Moon is a duo of guitarist Adam Caine and drummer Federico Ughi. Both are established in the New York City jazz and improvised music scene, playing with musicians such as William Parker, Connie Crothers, Daniel Carter, Glenn Branca, Darius Jones and Paul Smoker. Both have appeared on numerous albums as leaders and sidemen. The Adam Caine Trio’s “Thousandfold” was released in 2009 by Lithuania’s NoBusiness records, and Federico Ughi’s “Songs for Four Cities” was released in 2012 on Germany’s Skycap label.
